Visiting with Mic and Paula this week. The American Legion Riders were having a fund raiser to build a chapel for veterans, so I went to help the effort. The food was great, and, as a bonus, I won the fifty-fifty raffle. Then I went to the first football game of the year to see Sarah who is on the Varsity Cheerleader team. The football team lost but it was great to see the Cheerleaders perform. There I met Zack for the first time. Zack is the youngest Great Grandson.

He is four this year and is all boy. He climbs everywhere and is active like every four-year-old boy. He was shy at first but warmed up to me after a little while.
Mass at St Simeon on Saturday evening provided the opportunity to talk with Fr Wayne. That was the first time we had talked since we were visiting Ludington seven years ago. It was great to visit with him for a few minutes.
Four of the girls are living at home. It was great to visit them and hear about what is happening in their lives. The three youngest are in gymnastics and have placed in regional events. I’m very proud of their accomplishments. It takes a lot to place in regional competitions.
Celina, the oldest, and Paula are in a play at the local theatre and have practices to get ready for it. A very busy household to say the least.
Sunday dinner was a great time. Rachel came over and Chris was able to get off the boat for a couple of hours. Chris works on one of the Lake ships and is gone for four weeks, then home for two.
I had dinner with Joshua (Josh) at a local brewpub and we had a chance to catch up on things. Josh moved out on his own after high school and is trying to figure life out for himself.
Mic and I visited his friend Pete who so generously let me stay at their cabin in Wisconsin. We had some whisky and a cigar to celebrate and enjoyed a plate prepared by Pete’s wife Vilija. We talked about Wisconsin and what to do and see in the surrounding area.
It was a great visit and now I’m looking forward to seeing the UP (Upper Peninsula) for the first time.
