Beautiful day. Sun is out and it’s warm out. After breakfast, morning prayers and a rosary, I was ready to go.
Today I want to go south a way and explore the area along Turnagain Arm. I stopped at the first parking area and met a couple who were waiting for the Bore Tide. They explained a lot about what a Bore Tide is and when it was supposed to happen.
There are only three places in the world that have a Bore Tide and Turnagain Arm is one of them. A Bore Tide happens when the outgoing tide reverses and the incoming tide moves faster that the existing water along a narrow opening. A severe Bore Tide can have a wall of water moving as high as eight feet. There was a surfer there with a board who planned to ride the wave as it came in.
I decided to stay and see it. A short time later, some people came by and talked to the surfer, and they all drove off further into Turnagain Arm. It was disappointing because you could not even see the wave. It was a beautiful day so it really didn’t matter but it would have been great to see it. They said the ranger told them there will be a bigger one in a couple of days but neither one of us will be here then.
It was extremely hot inside the fifth wheel when I got back, up in the eighties. I opened the door and turned the fan on over the bed to draw the heat out of the fifth wheel.
For dinner, I opened a pack of smoked salmon I purchased at the store and had it with cheese and crackers. The salmon was a disappointment. I enjoyed an ale with it. Then I prayed evening prayers and headed to bed.
